My napkin story--"Let x"--is up over at the Esquire Books Blog.

That is all. For now.

Great story! Really enjoyed it. Very subtle and clever, soft and aching.

Chad, the Esquire story is lovely!

How do you submit to the Esquire napkin thing?

Thanks, Jamie & Ross. I appreciate your stopping by.

Anonymous--I think it's pretty much by invitation only. They sent out a bunch of napkins to lots of different writers.

Chad, that is fabulous! It made me remember your gift for math (and writing of course) that I always admired.

I love your writing, Chad. I especially love your short pieces (no offense to the long ones), which are amazing and lyrical. (You know, my MFA is in poetry, so I have this bias for short lyrical things.) This is a wonderful piece, and it's also so cool to see it on a napkin. You rock.

Thanks so much, Chris and Donna.

Chris--My mathematical abilities have so waned. I actually had to look up the word 'variable' when I was writing the story to make sure I was using it correctly.

Donna--For info on rats, see the appropriate post. You'll be shocked and amazed.

Thanks, Kyle.

Coach still has me batting eighth in the lineup, but I think I may start working my way up soon.
